How Often Should You Really Clean Your Solar Panels?

Dust builds up faster than you’d think in Andhra Pradesh’s dry months — here’s a realistic cleaning schedule.
A layer of dust that looks harmless can quietly cut a panel’s output by 10-15% — and in the dry stretch between monsoons, that layer builds up faster than most homeowners expect.
Our recommended schedule
Every 4-6 weeks during the dry season (roughly November through May), and after any dust storm. Once the monsoon starts, rain generally keeps panels clean on its own.
Signs you’re overdue
If your monitoring app shows output dropping on clear, sunny days for no obvious reason, dust build-up is the first thing to rule out.
